Cagayan to export mungbean to Japan

CABATUAN, Isabela: A cooperative based in this town is eying to export its munggo or mungbean product to Japan with the assistance of a team from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in Region 2 (Cagayan Valley).

DTI Region 2 Director Leah Pulido Ocampo said it is the agency’s objective to make the region more competitive in the global value chain, thus facilitating the movement of products in the region offshore.

To do this, Ocampo said the DTI in the region, together with the project beneficiaries from Flow of Pariir Agriculture Cooperative (FPAC), facilitated the international shipping of mungbean samples to Japan on October 5 for further testing.
